In the River | A 100 Word Story
#365 National Poetry Month – 30 Days 30 Poems
The river raged with souls untamed Of those who never had a name, They must go where the water takes them Hoping home will come again. Take them to an unknown place Where everyone has a face, And speaking truth is met with grace To get there we must stop this chase. Now the raging river has calmed To let us through the great beyond, Please wait for me if you get there first I’m drowning yet I feel such thirst. Against the river we all must go Fear not the dangers of below It is safer than you know.

She | A 100 Word Story
#364 National Poetry Month – 30 Days 30 Poems
She ran like the wind when no one was chasin’ Not a care in the world when things were easy. And she jokes with her friends at the end of the day, They’re gone now—in her heart they stay. She says when she grows up she’ll still laugh and smile But she’s changed—she’s not the same. And the friends in her life, they come and they go, She can’t help herself, they need her, she knows. At the end of her life she’ll sit down and say It was fun, I was happy, I did it my way.

Just a Game | A 100 Word Story
#363 National Poetry Month – 30 Days 30 Poems
It was just a game, That’s what everyone kept telling me But where were their voices When the game turned deadly? And my life was on the line. Now no one has words Only empty explanations They try and try to be more caring About a choice, a move, a crime. It wasn’t a game. There were definitely rules. I broke every one— Faced with consequences in the mirror. My choice, my move, my crime. I tried to be more caring Talk myself through fake accusations, Your life on the line The game has just begun But I’m walking away.

Not Earth | A 100 Word Story
#362 National Poetry Month – 30 Days 30 Poems
We looked to the sky for their sign They said keep watch, help was coming Two decades gone and not a word or signal Hope dashed away on the tale end of stars Every night a comet flies by We are planets away left alone and abandoned Waiting for hope to eventually come Have they forgotten us like the setting of the sun On a mission to find life Instead we rather end life None of us wanted this life Where is our promised new life? In the dust of a forgotten planet Look beyond the stars to find us.
