The Circus | A 100 Word Story

#109 Germanicus Publishing

“If that’s the best this hick town has to offer we’re in trouble,” Geronimo, the ringmaster said twirling his long black mustache. Disappointment on his face as the third act walked off stage.

“I am from here. Trust me. This town hasn’t changed much. Filled with weirdos.”

The circus was passing through on their way to a neighboring city. But business was no longer booming. A new act to bring the gawkers round again was desperately needed.

Just when it seemed like all hope was gone, the ground beneath them rattled. Their water filled glasses toppled over as she entered.

In keeping with the theme for the rest of August, check out the publication whose name I used for the story you just read. And if you like their writing, give them a Subscribe to let them know!
