#335 Queen of Wands – Billina the Hen

Her cage was massive. I have never seen a cage that large before. She ruffled her feathers and turned her head. Her beak poked through the bars.

“Why are you here?” Her question took us by surprise. Not because she was a large and plump chicken, but because she was trapped in a cage.

“You brought us here. We were just passing through.”

She cackled. No, clucked. “I can help you but you must tell me the truth.”

“What can a caged bird do?”

Suddenly, her cage door opened. It was then I wished I hadn’t opened my big mouth.
