#325 III of Wands – Chess Valley
Taking the right path was wrong. We realized that after walking for about an hour through the dense forest, expecting to find what we were looking for before whatever lived in here found us first.
“This is pointless. Let’s turn back,” she said, and sat down on what looked like a stump.
“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.” The voice was sharp and shrill, echoing through the trees.
“Who said that? Who’s there?” I asked.
“We wouldn’t turn back if we were you. The road less traveled is a better plan for two.”
Along the path, two pair of red eyes watched us.
