Radio | A 100 Word Story

#200 Gibberish

The words coming through the radio were garbled as he turned the dial slowly, trying to get a clearer signal again.

“Hello. Are you there?” he spoke into the microphone.

Static and indecipherable language, but nothing he could make out. He thought he heard the words “help” and “killer” which terrified him. It was believed a serial killer found his victims this way.

There it was again. The far away voice. “Help— He’s coming for you—”

“Wait, who’s coming? Who are you?”

What sounded like static soon became distinct laughter. He unplugged the radio but the laughter just grew louder.

In keeping with the theme for the rest of November, check out the publication whose name I used for the story you just read. And if you like their writing, give them a Subscribe to let them know!

Special thanks to for being a part of the Substack Fiction Community and now a part of my 100 Word Story journey.
