#111 OGWiseman’s Stories!
Her implant began to malfunction over a month ago. Instead of the usual voice she heard in her ear since birth, there was nothing. She didn’t understand this aloneness. But she didn’t want to report it either. Every day she spent with her own thoughts made her feel more alive.
At work she pretended to hear the voice. It told her to take more breaks. Watch more movies. Listen to more music. Her co-workers and neighbors began to get suspicious as their voice never told them to do those things.
She made plans to run away to the voiceless land.
