“Today’s the day,” she whispered. The courtroom was buzzing with spectators sitting in the gallery and the judge behind the bench. Taylor found a seat near the back and took it right as things were getting started.
“Order. Order,” the judge said, banging his gavel. He scanned the room and locked eyes with Taylor in the back. From the moment he saw her his demeanor changed for the rest of the day.
The last case done for the day, Taylor walked through the crowd. No one saw her. She approached the bench. The judge also knew, today was the day.
