Hi Erica … did you miss out your words by mistake?

    • Erica Drayton

I knew I forgot something last night. It’s what happens when you schedule so many things to happen on a daily basis. Should be there now.

      • Feasts and Fables

Nice start to a tale. Puffs on pipe whilst considering where to take it!

        • Erica Drayton

My uncle smoked his pipe ever since I’d know him. I inherited one of his pipes and a book on pipe smoking when he passed. And like Holmes I’ve always wanted to sit by a fire in my overgrown chair and smoke a pipe while I solve a crime or two. Ah, when dreams finally come true…

          • Feasts and Fables

My dad was a pipe smoker. He gave it up a good few years ago but I remember the tobacco smell fondly. As far as I know, he never solved a crime!

  2. Susie Mawhinney

I was about to say the same Erica.. ?

    • Erica Drayton

Sincerest apologies. I forgot to copy/paste the damn thing after I wrote it some time ago! Ugh!

Stand by the kerbside, they said, we’ll catch you on a drive-by. Incessant rain threaded a course to my waistband via my ill-fitting collar. As the dazzling headlights approached, I stepped forward, resigned to my fate. The puddle erupted, a white wall tyre induced tsunami. “Loser!”, they yelled. Damn kids.
