#202 Parhelia

“Hotel Parhelia? The stories I could tell you about that place.” He stamped out his cigarette after only taking two puffs. His beard was rough and ready, hair disheveled, and clothes unkempt. I pulled out my tape recorder but he put his hand up to stop me. “I won’t say another word if you plan on using that.” I put it away.

He pulled out another cigarette and lit it. “They deal in the utmost discretion.” Eye roll. “ Just ask for the “deluxe” package. Believe me, you’ll live to regret it. That place… couples go in… they come out different…”
